Capitola Veterinary Hospital is excited to announce the beginning of its “Artist in Action” series! Capitola Veterinary Hospital strongly values our community. “Artists in Action” will bring together featured artists with local non profit groups in order to support our community. Each featured artist will contribute 50% of the sales of their work to a local nonprofit group of their choice. Our first artist is photographer Dave Donaldson and he has selected the nonprofit BirchBark Foundation to work with.
Donaldson’s photography includes street shooting, landscapes, events, and portraits. With his companion, Star (a white boxer), he walks the local beaches capturing sunsets and moonrises. Sometimes he draws inspiration from Picasso, Dali, or Monet and lets digital art take over his photography tweaking reality into something he finds fascinating.
Donaldson chose BirchBark foundation to work with for this series. BirchBark is the only nonprofit organization in the Central Coast region dedicated to saving the lives of pets who already have great homes, but whose families cannot afford all or some of the medical bills due to catastrophic or life threatening events.
The display of photographs will be at the hospital until October 15th from noon to 2pm and from 5pm to 6pm Monday through Friday and from noon to 3pm on Saturday.
